Shane Lavery
Shane joined BRG in early 2019, with a background in mineral exploration in Ireland and abroad. He has a BSc (Hons) degree in Earth and Ocean Sciences from NUI Galway and an MSc by research from Trinity College Dublin. He has been involved at all levels in projects in Ireland, Africa and the UK from grassroots and planning up to resource delineation and reporting for base metals, precious metals and industrial materials. Shane became a director of BRG in 2023.
Dave Blaney
Dave graduated with a B.Sc. in Geology from Queens University Belfast in 1987. He obtained professional accreditation from the Institute of Geologists of Ireland in 1999 and a M.Sc. in Geotechnical Engineering, Design and Management from Nottingham Trent University in 2010.
Dave joined Rio Tinto in 1987 as a junior exploration geologist eventually assuming the role of Country Manager in 1995. He joined Noranda Exploration Ireland in 1996 as Senior Geologist, with responsibility for the implementation of their Irish carbonate hosted Zn / Pb programme, discovering the Pallasgreen Deposit in 2002.
Graham Reid
Graham graduated from Trinity College, Dublin with a BA (Hons) in Geology in 1979. He was accepted into the Institute of Geologists of Ireland as a professional member in 2003, and is currently serving as a committee member of the organisation.
After graduation Graham worked in the offshore oil exploration sector in areas including the North Sea and Canada. A move to mineral exploration geophysics in 1981 proved to be the catalyst for the rest of his career in which he has specialised in the design, implementation and interpretation of geophysical surveys – responsible for the implementation of cutting edge spatial and interpretative software as a GIS manager for a major mining company.
Mimi Pierson
Scientist
Mimi joined BRG in early 2012 with a background of practical environmental and geophysical experience working as both a volunteer and employee in research institutions and countries worldwide. She holds a B.A. (Hons) in Physics and Geophysics from Denison University, Ohio and a M.Sc. in Environmental Science from University College Dublin, Ireland. She has worked closely with the site investigation and exploration industries since then, and has expansive experience in on-site environmental management of all geological and geophysical activities.
